For all you renal dietitians out there, you all know about QI and having network goals to meet. Phosphorus is one of those goals that we meet and then we don't.
QI is one thing I find very interesting in the dialysis unit. I just may be the only one! : )
I like trying to problem solve why this one client's phosphorus is going up and down or always high. I can only try to imagine how it feels to be a dialysis patient and have all these diet restrictions. I try my best to make learning about the components of the diet as interesting as I can. (Hence, the phosphorus board)
Another one of my ideas, is starting to provide a mid-month phosphorus report card. I hope with having this information in print for my client's, it will help them track their progress. We'll see how it goes!
